Adanya Sarana dan Prasarana Masjid Sangat Penting Untuk Meningkatkan Mutu dan Pelayanan Jamaah

Rasulullah Muhammad SAW bersabda, “Barangsiapa mendirikan karena Allah sesuatu Masjid, niscaya Allah mendirikan untuknya seperti yang ia telah dirikan itu, di dalam Syurga. (HR. Bukhori dan Muslim)”


Masjid berarti tempat untuk bersujud. Secara terminologis Masjid juga dapat diartikan sebagai tempat beribadah umat Islam, khususnya dalam melaksanakan sholat. Masjid sering disebut dengan Baitullah (rumah Allah), yaitu rumah yang dibangun untuk mengabdi kepada Allah, karena itu setiap Masjid yang dibangun adalah diperuntukkan bagi kaum muslimin supaya dipergunakan sebagai sarana mengabdi kepada Allah. 

Meskipun fungsi utamanya sebagai tempat untuk menegakkan sholat, khususnya sholat berjamaah, namun Masjid dapat dipergunakan untuk kegiatan lainnya. Di masa Rasulullah, Masjid selain dipergunakan untuk sholat juga untuk kepentingan sosial lainnya.
